"Me, We" - A Collaborative Painting at BCAC
OPEN STUDIO NIGHT at BCAC Art Center & Gallery, Ubud, Bali Center for Artistic Creativity
A social & networking event involving the creation of a collaborative painting measuring 750 x 60 centimeters inspired by the shortest poem in the English language - 'Me,we' by Muhammad Ali. Also inspired by the new Positive Psychology and FLOW.
Participants first viewed slides of symbolic art by children, established art masters & aboriginal Australian painters. The importance of symbolism and icons in the development of expression through drawing for all human beings was first explored, together with the easy availability of symbol drawing for all, regardless of artistic skill and/or natural talent.
People were invited to use symbols and icons to express who they are, this is the "Me", and to collaborate and allow their work to flow to and from each others drawings IF they felt inclined to do so, this is the "We".
