Accommodation
BCAC founder/director, Bruce Sherratt and his 9 years old son Joey live on the upper floor of the large building above the studio. This is a large area with roof garden, a lotus & fish pond and a small kitchen (the main kitchen is downstairs next to the studio) and very spacious open sitting and dining area with an almost continuous fresh air breeze and morning view of Bali's most sacred mountain and icon; Gunung Agung.
There are 2 very attractive extra rooms (see pictures) which Bruce sometimes makes available to clients who want the convenience of 24/7 access to the BCAC studio and facilities. Indeed the whole building is included in the art center and gallery and open to visitors for viewing with paintings and sculptures every where, including stairways and guest rooms. There is a photography gallery between the main studio gallery and stairs leading to the upper level.
This reflects Bruce's original philosophy when founding BCAC several years back, which was - "Come to Bali and paint with me in my studio". Please note the rooms are available to guests without children whose main purpose is to spend time exploring their creativity at BCAC. The rooms are not available to those simply looking for somewhere to stay during a holiday in Bali.
The rooms, like the rest of the center, are cleaned and serviced daily and, while guests are welcome to use the kitchen for simple things like making coffee & tea and keeping cold drinks, restaurants and cafes nearby are plentiful - indeed Bruce & Joey generally dine out.
